Università Politecnica delle Marche –ITALY

Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) is a public university located in Ancona, Italy. It was founded in 1959 as the "Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori di Ancona" (Higher Education Institute of Ancona). In 1969, it became an independent university and changed its name to Università degli Studi di Ancona (University of Ancona). In 2003, the university changed its name again to Università Politecnica delle Marche, to reflect its focus on technical and scientific disciplines. UNIVPM offers undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, architecture, economics, medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, and agriculture. UNIVPM is organized into six faculties: Engineering, Agriculture, Economics, Medicine and Surgery, Veterinary Medicine, and Pharmacy. It has a student population of approximately 17,000. The teaching faculty currently numbers 710 teaching staff, along with 560 technical and administrative personnel. In addition to biotechnology, agriculture, energy and materials science, UNIVPM is renowned for its research in various fields as well. Several research institutions and centers, such as the Center for Nanotechnology and Smart Materials (CeNTI), the Institute of Industrial Technology and Automation (ITIA), and the Center for Research and Innovation in Sustainability and Environment (CRISE) are located at the university. Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU)

HNU is one of the youngest universities of applied sciences in Bavaria and one of the strongest in terms of growth. HNU positions itself as a business school with the main academic programmes focusing on the area of business management and applied information management. It is organised into three academic faculties: Health Management, Information Management, and Business and Economics. At its Centre for Professional and Postgraduate Studies, it also groups the degree programmes and offerings aimed at professionals who have already gained work experience. HNU has established itself as a solid education partner for enterprises and other educational partners in its direct environment and beyond the region. Being an international business school, HNU has fundamental experiences in the fields of entrepreneurship, business model innovation, and logistics. HNU has more than 15 years of experience with cooperation projects with African partners, with strong relationships in Eastern and Southern Africa. In 2013, the interdisciplinary Africa Institute (AI) was founded to integrate all activities in research, teaching and learning, and innovation and transfer on the African continent, across all three faculties. The practice oriented projects with African partners focus on the areas of healthcare management, logistics, decentral electrification, transformation management (e.g. adapting the German model of universities of applied sciences to the African context), and applied entrepreneurship. The majority of these projects have been funded by GIZ and DAAD. Over the years, sustainable partnerships have been built with universities in Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Rwanda, South-Africa, and Tanzania. University of Copenhagen - (UCPH)

UCPH is the largest institution of research and education in Denmark, with more than 40,000 students and more than 10,000 employees, ranked 39 among universities worldwide and 9th in continental Europe (ARWU – Shanghai). The Department of Food & Resource Economics (IFRO) has about 170 employees. IFRO is responsible for one Bachelor´s programme and 6 Master´s Programmes, three of the Masters are linked to Erasmus Programmes. IFRO is highly involved in services to farmers, agribusinesses, and the agro-industry through our many research-based contracts with industry and our public sector services contracts to conduct research–based consultancy assignments for the Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark and smaller contracts with other ministries and institutions. IFRO has been involved in establishing three Innovation Hubs (student business incubators) at different faculties in UCPH and in developing and institutionalizing the business development services offered to our students by the Hubs. IFRO has been involved in developing at web-based toolbox (I&E Toolbox) providing teaching planning tools, pedagogical methods, and case material for lecturers that want to integrate innovation and/or entrepreneurship in their teaching. During the last five year, IFRO has also developed special expertise in University-Industry collaboration through several research projects focusing on the characteristics of this kind of organizational setting. Within UCPH, the Faculty of Science (SCIENCE) is the more active faculty in development research and educational capacity development activities. SCIENCE strives to contribute to the global development through research activities within areas such as sustainable transition, agribusiness, natural resources and ecosystems, resource management, policies and economics, agro-food chains (crops, health and processing), food security and nutrition, water and interaction between nature and culture (see: https://development.science.ku.dk/ for an further details, including an overviews of projects structured according to the 17 SDGs). The UPLIFT-Ag project has brought together 9 HEIs from 4 countries in Africa, partnering with 3 HEIs in Europe and a wide range of non-HEI actors in the different countries
